The Future and Scope of Cloud Computing in India

Cloud computing is one of the most widely discussed IT trends these days. Cloud computing has enabled many businesses to save money while improving user satisfaction. Another example is Google, which offers users the ability to create free documents and calendars with many other features.

Main types of Cloud computing

  1. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) outsources the need for pricey equipment. Rather than acquiring costly equipment such as servers, hard drives, and networking equipment, organizations would utilize the Cloud and have everything hosted by a cloud computing provider. The virtual equipment would be used on a pay-as-you-go basis by the company.
  2. A small firm that sells cloud applications to businesses will utilize PaaS to “PaaS (Platform as a Service) means that applications are executed on virtual host” the apps and have them operate on cloud servers rather than on in-house servers. The services are paid for on a processor/bandwidth basis by the firm offering the software.
  3. Software as a Service (SaaS): Cloud applications are licensed on a per-user basis rather than in bulk licensing. This allows small businesses to buy a la carte licenses for programs they only use once in a while. Instead of acquiring 15 licenses, a corporation may pay only for the software that is utilized, removing any restrictions on how many workstations the program can be placed on.

The necessity and significance of cloud computing

Cloud computing[1]  is quickly becoming a trend in the commercial world. It makes it easier for users to get about. It gives the user a storage area that they may utilize without having to worry about the mechanics of the system. There are a variety of different reasons why a company would desire to use cloud computing:

Cost: An organization’s need to invest in storage gear and servers is eliminated with cloud computing.

Focus on the business: Because all services may be delivered over the internet, a company does not have to worry about technical issues or concerns linked to physical storage and backup. As a result, a company will concentrate more on its primary business.

Performance: It provides consistent results regardless of the user’s location. Another important feature is the ability to modify all services and apps automatically.

Security: Cloud computing provides the highest level of security, safeguarding your data from unwanted access, alteration, and loss.

Flexibility: If one portion of the cloud environment fails or stops working, the other resources continue to function until the issue is resolved. Cloud benefits are well-known and well-documented. One thing to keep in mind is that it leads to new job prospects. Because the costly software system packages and hardware systems necessary to deploy them are no longer required, cloud computing lowers costs and reduces staffing needs. By paying the service provider, the appropriate software system is downloaded from the internet according to the unit’s requirements. The evidence suggests that downloading the software system rather than storing it on the system’s hardware may be more cost-effective.

Cloud Computing and Cloud hosting India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi traveled to Silicon Valley to seek advice from US technology companies and IBM to make his ambition of a Digital India a reality. The World Bank predicts that India will become the third-largest economy in the next 10 years, and the “Digital India” plan has a lot of promise to improve the country’s digital infrastructure.

Cloud computing, which runs all types of business applications in information centers built for the quick supply of computing resources instead of desktop or laptop computers, is one of the main technologies that are critical to realizing the promise of Digital India.

Digital India must provide a variety of consumption models, particularly for regulated businesses that require a high level of information management and monitoring, such as banking. Clients have control over where they create, test, deploy, execute, and manage their cloud apps with versatile consumption.

Cloud computing’s Potential for Digital India:

Prime Minister Modi’s vision for Digital India is built on three pillars: infrastructure as a utility for all citizens, government services on demand, and citizen digital permission. Consider an e-health system in which a diverse group of Indians uses cognitive cloud technology in novel and meaningful ways to speed illness diagnosis and treatment. However, Watson Health, a new business unit at IBM, is looking at how this works in practice. Watson Health Cloud is at the core of it all. This is a platform with a large and growing ecosystem where application developers, physicians, and other medical and healthcare providers will notice and share data, use dozens of pre-made cognitive elements to create new applications, and mix services to launch new research collaborations and improve patient reach and engagement.

Another reasonable use of cloud capabilities offered via the public cloud is to distribute government services information across mobile platforms, ensuring that the correct data is available whenever and wherever it is needed, especially for residents without home internet service.

These are just a few instances of how cloud computing will help Digital India go forward. Cognitive cloud applications can transform India’s manufacturing, retail, money services, telecommunications, and government sectors.
